Description:
This program is an introduction to common welding and cutting processes used in metal fabrication of structural steel. Students will be introduced to Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Oxy-Fuel Cutting (OFC), Plasma Arc Cutting (PAC), Air Carbon Arc Cutting (AAC), OSHA10, metal preparation, and heat treating. Students will also be introduced to blueprint reading and construction of items according to specifications.
Hours:
Morning session – 8:10 – 11:10 a.m.
Afternoon session – 12:45 – 3:45 p.m.
