Our current class started on August 10, 2023, and is set to complete on June 14, 2024.   It consists of intense classroom and clinical experiences leading up to [eligibility to apply for] licensure as a practical nurse.

The Practical Nursing course is ten (10) months in length and consists of 1463 clock hours. Each year the program begins in August and finishes in June.  Students interested in this program can prepare now by taking a medical terminology course for college credit or from Mid-America Technology Center and a Healthcare provider CPR course, as both are required before entry.  (Medical Terminology will be offered in July to students admitted to the program without it).  A certified nurse assistant course is suggested.  The entrance test required during the application process is the TEAS  (Test of Essential Academic Skills).  Study guides and practice tests for this are available for purchase from www.atitesting.com.

Applicants must submit an official High-School Transcript or GED scores, and Birth Certificate. Applicants are also required to complete the pre-entrance test, orientation and personal interview.  For additional information about the application process, contact the Practical Nursing Program via email, Brandie Harrington
