Mid-America Technology Center’s Kara Murphy Selected as Oklahoma SkillsUSA Advisor of the Year

Kara Murphy, MATC’s Horticulture teacher, was selected as the Oklahoma SkillsUSA Advisor of the Year at the 2022 SkillsUSA Skills Championships and Leadership Conference held in Tulsa.

Kara is a dedicated advisor and teacher helping students develop not only career skills but also life skills that are necessary to be successful in a changing world.

She spends many hours, both at school and at home, helping students be the most they can be and finding ways to bring out the best in each individual. Kara is a great mentor and motivator and is always there to offer encouragement.

She is an advisor who works behind the scenes, always putting the students and Oklahoma SkillsUSA at the forefront of all endeavors. Kara works with local, district, and state students to achieve success.

Kara will compete, in June, at the 2023 SkillsUSA Conference for National SkillsUSA Advisor of the Year.
