Application and Admission Information

Your Path to Mid-America

The application and selection process for Mid-America Technology Center begins well before classes start in August. Throughout the year, prospective students will have opportunities to learn about our programs, tour campus, complete an interview, and move through the application and selection process.

 

The timeline below provides an overview of important milestones and what students can expect along the way. Some steps and notification dates may vary depending on whether a student attends a partner school, is homeschooled, attends EPIC or another virtual school, or is applying as an adult.

SEPTEMBER — Explore

Mid-America Admissions Coordinators visit area high schools to meet with sophomores and participate in college and career fairs and other outreach opportunities.

 

OCTOBER — Campus Tours

Campus tours begin for students from partner schools, homeschool students, EPIC students, and students attending other virtual schools.

 

NOVEMBER - JANUARY — Interview

  • Interviews are conducted at partner schools.
  • Homeschool, EPIC, other virtual school students, and adult applicants interview on the Mid-America campus on select dates.

 

JANUARY — Application Review

  • Student records are requested and reviewed, including transcripts, attendance, essential skills, and applicable IEPs and 504 Plans.
  • Applications are processed for selection.

 

FEBRUARY — Re-Enrollment for First-Year Students

Eligible first-year students complete the re-enrollment process for their second year at Mid-America.

 

APRIL — Selection and C.O.R.E. Day (Partner School Students)

  • Acceptance and waitlist letters are distributed to students at their high school sites.
  • C.O.R.E. Day — On-site Confirmation, Orientation, Review & Evaluation with a Mid-America representative.
  • For students with an IEP or 504 Plan, a review meeting is held with the parent and student to discuss and add appropriate goals and accommodations.

 

MAY — Additional Selection (Homeschool, EPIC & Virtual School Students)

  • Acceptance and waitlist letters are distributed to homeschool, EPIC, and other virtual school students.
  • Round Two Interviews are conducted for any remaining program openings.
 

JULY — Final Openings

Round Three interviews are conducted to fill any remaining program openings.

 

AUGUST — Final Notification & Classes Begin

All candidates are notified of their selection status.
Classes begin at Mid-America Technology Center.
