Business Office Assistant
Program Overview
The Business Office Assistant program is a 2-year class designed to prepare students to handle the office tasks of any company -in the office or remotely- for diverse employment opportunities in a variety of business office facilities. Students will learn office skills necessary to organize a company’s records, maintain workflow, and keep the company in legal compliance. Office procedures learned include business office software, records maintenance, communication, social media marketing, finance, maintaining inventory, as well as office terminology and documents for insurance, real estate, and legal businesses. Additionally, professional communication, scheduling, filing, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and staffing are objectives taught in the program. Students will gain valuable knowledge by participating in work-based education in several types of business offices such as human resources, customer service, ethics, and the abilities needed to be successful citizens and employees. Students are prepared to go to work upon completion of the program in any office setting.

$2.50 per credit hour X 960 hours = $2,400Financial Assistance
In-district* students under the age of 22 will be awarded the next step scholarship for students in good standing, which covers tuition and all full-time programs except Practical Nursing and Lineworker Technology.*In-district schools include: Blanchard, Bridge Creek, Dibble, Elmore City-Pernell, Lexington, Lindsay, Little Axe, Maysville, Newcastle, Noble, Paoli, Pauls Valley, Purcell, Stratford, Wanette, Washington, Wayne, Whitebead (PK-8) and Wynnewood.

Transportation Services
- High school students: Transportation is provided from your high school to MidAmerica for both morning and afternoon classes. Buses will also take you back to your high school.
- Home school, EPIC, and adult students: Transportation is provided from your local high school for both morning and afternoon classes. Buses will also take you back to your high school.

Applications are not posted online (except Lineworker Technology and Practical Nursing). High school students should contact their counselors and adult students should contact the MATC Admission Coordinators.
