Ryan Redus and Logan Becker have been named as both the 2021 recipients of the J.W. Baker Memorial Scholarship and as the Combination Collision Repair Technician outstanding students.
J.W. Baker, of Wayne, was an adjunct teacher and a great supporter of Mid-America Technology Center for many years. Because of his service and dedication to MATC, money was donated in Mr. Baker’s honor to be given in the form of the J.W. Baker Memorial Scholarship.
MATC teacher D.J. Patton says, “As their teacher, I have seen these students learn and grow so much over the last two years. They are what Mid America is all about, helping great students learn the skills to become difference-making employees. These young men will be great ambassadors of Career Tech Education.”
Redus and Becker have begun new careers at Auto Craft Body Shop in Norman, where they will be joined by three other Mid-America students at the same location.
